#CookBookInspiration ~ Low Fat Brownies

Today I am going to share a very easy and simple recipe. Low Fat Brownie is perfect for them who are on diet but always crave for some dessert like me. But if you are gluten and dairy intolerant then this recipe is not for you. It has flour,  yogurt and a bit milk. Though the recipe doesn’t call ask for Milk, I added it for a reason. While mixing the batter I found it too dense and sticky. So I added a bit milk to get the right texture.

Recipe books or given recipes always don’t give the right measurements. It is up to you to use your insight to incorporate the balance in between the taste and texture. The exciting part me is it is eggless and doesn’t call for any butter. Just a little addition of olive oil. You need only one bowl, a spatula and a baking tin. Give 5 minutes for preparation and 20 minutes for baking. And your low-fat brownie will be ready. But before I share the recipe with an elaborate direction how to make it, let me share an incident I experienced a few days back.

We, the Pie family were all headed to a mall last week. The plan was to dine out and spend some quality hours together. We reached the Mall and took the lift to 3rd floor. We were literally waddling with the kids and busy in managing them when we saw a bundle of notes just fell from a young lady’s purse. I called the lady, but she was busy talking with her mate. A man before me called that lady again. But again she was busy in talking and walking away holding her mate’s hand. Then another person rushed to them and stopped them. He stated the fact what happened. To my surprise, the young lady reluctantly came and picked up the money as if nothing had happened and made an attitude like “what was the big deal!!” The couple again moved away busy chirping together. There was no thank you or a gesture of gratitude to the man who called the lady to save her from a great loss. We, the people around, look at each other and exchanged a kind of weird smiles and scattered away to our destination. Silly things happen, we forget it and move away. But few futile incidents sometimes force you to contemplate on the human psychology and their behaviour. The couple was so much engrossed in each other that they were totally unaware what was happening around them. They were the world themselves that they lost the track of moments on which they should beam on. Love is blind, I must say. But integrating gratitude in one’s character is an art that very few people can achieve that I realised that day.

Now let me come to the recipe. If you have checked my earlier posts, I am now sharing recipes from the book  The Cookie and Biscuit Bible. The book is a treasure trove with easy to make recipes. Though it has many complicated recipes too, I am picking out only the easy and simple recipes. This Low Fat Brownies came out perfect. Again I have halved the given recipe in the book to give the first try in a small batch. This idea I got from my friend Amrita who blogs from Sweet ‘n’ Savoury. She always makes small batches to avoid the wastage if by any change the recipe doesn’t not meet your expectation. Enjoy the recipe below:
